Osterwalder Powder Technology
Electric Powder Presses
The Powder Presses of the Next Generation
Osterwalder Direct Drive Technology DDT
Osterwalder Direct Drive Technology DDT connects the output shaft of the motor directly to the spindle.
This eliminates:
- Belt drives
- Reduction gears
- Additional bearings
This improves:
- Reliability/safety
- Movement accuracy
- Drive rigidity
The low inertia leads to an unmatched dynamic motion control.
This drive concept maximizes component lifetime and minimizes maintenance requirements.
Compatibility CA-SP Electric with CA-SP and CA-NC II
Compatible are:
- Active tooling elements
- Adaptation parts (i.e. 3R/EROWA)
- Press programs
- Process- and programming know-how
Advantages of the CA-SP Electric
Power consumption: ~ 2,5 kW
Thanks to the innovative drive concept the system uses only energy when axes are moving respectively when powder is being compacted.
The system uses no energy in stand-by mode (compact pick-up and in set-up mode).
Osterwalder’s Energy Recuperation System feeds energy back in the circuit during axes deceleration.
Most energy-efficient drive technology in powder compacting
